Hello everybody

It's been a great week at the MTC. Yesterday it was sunny so we got to go out and play football (soccer) with some of our spare time. To answer some of my moms questions we get to exercise 45 minutes almost every day. We have a track outside, a field for playing football in, and a basketball court. Since it pretty much rains every day we have been inside the gym playing this football game where you each have a chair and you try to get everyone else out by hitting the ball with there chairs. It's a really fun game, and one of our lovely sisters actually knocked me on my butt when i was in the air trying to headbutt the ball, it was a delight. As far as food goes for lunch and dinner they have a main meal, which i'm recognizing the trend of having a potatoe side with every meal. for breakfast we have our choice of a variety of cereals, toasted bread w/jam or pb or nutella, and fruits and juices and stuff. the best part about every meal is the nutella and bread is unlimited, so we usually hit that up almost every meal. if you haven't had nutella and are reading this i highly recommend you purchase some, you can get it at costco or any of your fine food supermarkets (dans for my salt lake peoples) in the european section or by the peanut butter. The reason i mentioned the silk tie dilemma is because of the amount of rain, everyone was saying the silk ties would be ruined. It's ok though, because when we had our p-day on tuesday i went to town and bought 9 ties for a pound a piece. They have these shops which they call charity shops, and they are basically like mini D.I.'s, and there's like 5 in town. Currently in our class we're working on the plan of salvation, which we started friday night. This week coming up to friday we were working on the restoration lesson, and on friday we actually went out to a town 30 minutes away and had our first tracting experience. I was pretty excited since to talk to some real people, since the roll playing was getting a little old. Our first house the lady said she had paint sitting out she needed to paint with or something, we offered to come back, to no avail. The second house we spoke with a catholic man, and gave him the short restoration message on the porch and gave him a book of mormon to read and pray about. i hope he reads it. anyway the rest of the 2 hours flew by, we handed out a few more books of mormon, and i honestly wish i could have done that the rest of the day instead of head back. The people were so nice, they wanted to kick us off their porch but were too polite so my companion and i kept asking question's which lead to short lessons of the restoration. it was awesome. sadly that will be our only tracting experience. they said we have too much to learn with the rest of the lessons so we have to wait tell we're out in our field. Anyway a little about my companion.. his name is elder stacey and he's from woodruff utah (or something like that), which is a farm community, and he has a little country accent. it's pretty dope, or lush, as the english say. He's super chill and pretty much just goes with anything, so we keep it pretty chillax. |'m kinda worried, since i have such a chill companion in the MTC, i wonder what kind of craziness I'll be paired up with out in Leeds?? Anyway i get to check this email once a week, then in the field prolly on p days. Everyone can email me, i'll prolly write just one big email due to time restrictions, but ask question if you have them. Take care everyone. Elder McKenna
